Introducing: Noah Unveils the Follow-Up to Its Hit Timex Collaboration Watch
What We Know
Earlier this week NYC-based menswear brand Noah teamed up with Timex for round two of its vintage-inspired, Art Deco-style tank watch. Featuring the same stepped design to their original launch last summer, this quartz-powered timepiece now features a date, a moonphase and a handsome brown leather strap. Fret not, it’s still priced at a reasonable $198 and is available for pre-order via Noah. The estimated ship date is early June 2025.
The gold-plated stainless steel case measures 37mm x 25mm, making it slightly larger than the largest Tank Must and LC models. With its unusual case design, the watch has a noticeable heft—more robust than a Cartier Tank—but the chunkiness adds to its charm. Compared to the previous collab, this new offering features a moon phase movement that tracks the current position of the Moon through its 29.5-day cycle instead of the day and night indicator. Whether Noah chose a moon phase to lean further into its trad-style dress watch, it’s likely the result of the first Sun and Moon movement being discontinued by Timex. Regardless of the reason, the follow-up is technically an improvement on the original.
Adding context (just as I did back in June), Noah occupies a distinctive niche as a mid-price-point contemporary menswear brand with genuine fashion credibility. Founded by Brendon Babenzien (former creative director of Supreme and now the Men’s Creative Director at J.Crew) and Estelle Bailey-Babenzien, the brand blends NYC and London influences to deliver a youthful, skate-inspired twist on heritage classics.
In 2024, aside from Aimé Leon Dore, it’s rare to find brands that seamlessly merge fashion, traditional menswear, and streetwear. Noah’s aesthetic is casual yet refined, proving that sophistication doesn’t require a suit. It’s not about leaving behind streetwear or sweatpants—it’s about reimagining them with a more polished edge, like pairing them with a gold tank watch.
The Noah x Timex Moonphase watch can be pre-ordered via noahny.com for $198, with pre-ordering ending at midnight on November 30th (note: Noah’s website is closed for Black Friday).
What We Think
When the original watch launched back in June, it sold out FAST. So fast it seems that the majority were purchased by scalpers and quickly listed on eBay. Frustrating, especially when you dig deeper and discover that these orders were for presale with delivery in April 2025. But don’t let the hype around the first release cloud your judgment.
This watch is still an excellent value prop. I got the chance to play with the original day and night indicator model, which has a little more bulk to its profile than I was expecting, but it was still a cool design for the price. If you’re the patient type who can wait until the summer for your moon phase to arrive in the mail, I say it’s well worth pulling the trigger before Sunday.
