Happenings: Jaeger-LeCoultre Presents The 1931 Polo Club Traveling Collection In New York City And Los Angeles

Spread the love

Jaeger-LeCoultre is celebrating the Reverso’s roots in the world of polo with a new traveling exhibition arriving in New York City this May. Following its debut at Watches & Wonders Geneva, The 1931 Polo Club traveling collection will be on display at the Jaeger-LeCoultre Madison Avenue flagship boutique from May 1 to May 10, 2025 and Los Angeles at the Rodeo Drive flagship boutique May 17 to June 3.

JLC NYC Madison Avenue Boutique

The exhibition highlights the historical origins of the Reverso, tracing the model’s story across four chapters: the Story of an Icon, the Story of Style & Design, the Story of Innovation, and the Story of Craftsmanship. Visitors can expect a thoughtful mix of vintage pieces and modern novelties that celebrate the more than nine decades of Reverso design and innovation.

Among the latest creations making their way to New York and Los Angeles are the Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater, featuring the brand-new openworked Calibre 953 with seven patents, and the Reverso Tribute Geographic, which introduces a world-time complication to the Reverso Tribute line for the first time.

JLC Reverso Tribute Nonantieme Enamel

Other selections include two new interpretations of the Reverso One “Precious Flowers” and new variations of the Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds, offering both blue and classic black dial options. The exhibit also features the latest expression of the Reverso Tribute Nonantieme ‘Enamel,’ combining decorative enameling on the reverse side with a grey sunray dial.

Available to further the experience, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Atelier d’Antoine will offer the paid Reverso Discovery Workshop at the Madison Avenue boutique — an interactive presentation blending education with a hands-on watchmaking experience. Meanwhile, the 1931 Café returns with a new collaboration: chocolate craftsman Mathieu Davoine has created a polo-inspired gastronomic experience for visitors to enjoy onsite. The exhibition is open to the public and free of charge (RSVP here). Guided tours and workshops can be booked in advance through Jaeger-LeCoultre’s online portal (book here).

JLC Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds with Milanese bracelet

The Reverso and JLC’s evolution of the original, simple “sport” watch into a brand-defining platform is one of the best stories to trace in all of horology. In the booth at Watches and Wonders, I could not get enough of the new Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds in 18k pink gold with its matching (and unbelievable) Milanese bracelet. Feeling this bracelet in the metal is worth the price of admission alone. Ok, it’s a free event, but still, the Milanese bracelet should make the trip to Madison Avenue worth it.

As added bonuses, the latest and greatest from the Reverso collection will be there too, along with a collection of vintage pieces that shouldn’t be overlooked. The brand rarely displays its collection of the very first Reversos, but for these ten days, examples of both wristwatch sizes from 1931 will be on display, as well as the hyper-rare Reverso “Sac” purse watch.
