Since 2006, Field Notes has manufactured memo books, pocket ledgers, notebooks, and calendars that pay homage to the utilitarian pocket notebooks and field journals of the early 20th century. We have long been fans of Field Notes, starting in 2011, when we first emblazoned our logo on the back of their classic “kraft paper” journal. Since then, we have always had the desire to work more closely with Field Notes – and finally got the chance with the Field Notes “Khaki” Limited Edition For Hodinkee.
Each watch, individual or set, from The Hamilton Khaki Limited Edition Collection For Hodinkee will come with a three-pack of custom, watch-focused Field Notes, designed by Hodinkee in collaboration with Field Notes. The three-packs are also available for purchase individually, in case you need extra or want that perfect gift for the adventurous watch collector in your life.
The set of three well-crafted, 48-page books has cover art inspired by the dials of The Hamilton Khaki Limited Edition Collection For Hodinkee. Details from the watches like the orange chronograph and seconds hands, the recognizable Hamilton hour and minute hands, and the white outer railroad track all make an appearance on the outer covers of the notebooks. But we didn’t stop there – we custom painted the markers, hands, and text on the covers with glow-in-the-dark ink that radiates with exposure to UV light, just like the lume on the dials of the watches.
On the inside, you will notice custom details with a specific focus on watches, including a space for keeping track of pertinent watch references, a millimeter-based measuring scale for your lug and width measurements, and a list of 30 practical uses for how to fill the pages of the Field Notes – all designed with adventure in mind.
