After a significant shakeup in the CEO roles at Cartier, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and Van Cleef & Arpels started unfolding in July, the final pieces of the puzzle have been put in place. In a homecoming of sorts, Jérôme Lambert is back at the helm of Jaeger-LeCoultre around 11 years after he left the role. Meanwhile, Laurent Perves has risen through the ranks at Vacheron since joining in 2016 and will now lead one of the “Holy Trinity” brands.

It’s hard to figure out where this merry-go-round at Richemont started, but two big moves really changed the landscape of the brand. The retirement of Cyrille Vigneron as CEO of Cartier starting September 1st of this year left an opening for Louis Ferla, the recent CEO of Vacheron Constantin, to step into a job he was long rumored to be interested in. Meanwhile, Van Cleef & Arpels’ recent CEO, Nicolas Bos, was tapped to lead Richemont as a whole, which required moving Jérôme Lambert to Chief Operating Officer. But when Catherine Rénier was moved from one CEO seat to another (from JLC to VCA), that left another opening to fill.

Jerome Lambert

So, with Ferla at Cartier and Rénier at Van Cleef, there were still two spots to fill. Lambert’s move back to Jaeger-LeCoultre seems obvious and thoughtful, bringing him back to a position he held from 2002 to 2013, one of JLC’s most successful periods. Much of what you see now with JLC – the combination of affordable brands and high horology complications all in one company – is thanks to Lambert. Lambert started at JLC in 1996 in the finance department and, after his departure in 2013, had a brief stint at Montblanc. Starting January 1, he’s back “home,” so to speak.

Lauren Perves

Laurent Perves takes the top role at Vacheron starting January 1 as well, during the brand’s 270th anniversary, which the brand has positioned as a big moment for the company. Perves started as Chief Marketing Officer at Vacheron before becoming and Chief Commercial Officer in 2021.
